Easy access for housing association’s residents
“The Freedor unit is a completely unique door closer that offers many advantages. We thought it was ideal for us as our fire doors are heavy and difficult to open. Freedor solves this problem.”
Tai Tarian is a not-for-profit organisation and the second largest social landlord in Wales. The organisation has over 9000 properties, including flats, sheltered schemes and properties for the elderly which allow easy access and independent living.
Mathew Keenan is a Works Inspector at Tai Tarian. He found occupants were struggling to open fire doors as they were too heavy. He looked for a product that could be easily fitted, provide easier access and ensure correct safety precautions in the event of a fire.
Mathew said: ” We contacted Fireco as we had seen a Freedor demonstration and were very impressed with how functional and easy to use it is.”
Following the demonstration, Tai Tarian opted for Freedor. Freedor is a wireless, overhead fire door closer that makes opening a heavy fire door effortless and automatically closes doors on the sound of the alarm. Mathew found Freedor was the ideal solution for the organisation’s fire door problems.
“The Freedor unit is a completely unique door closer that offers many advantages. We thought it was the right choice for us as our fire doors are heavy and hard to open. Freedor solves this problem. It also ensures that fire doors close when the alarm sounds, which stops the spread of smoke and fire, reducing damage and protecting lives.
- Easier entry for occupants
- Improved ventilation and a more open environment
- Reassurance of safety in case of a fire.
“It was an ideal solution as there is no wiring and no need to put cables in, therefore installation is quick and mess-free. The device is useful as it provides greater ease of access throughout the property and allows fresh air through for improved ventilation. This creates a more friendly environment for all of our residents.”
“The Fireco team gave us a first-class service, providing everything from advice and design, to installation and aftercare. The team demonstrated how easily and efficiently Freedor operates. Fireco’s customer service was straightforward and efficient and I would recommend it to anybody.”
